An elderly couple from Lausanne cannot have children, at this point they decide to have a doll built to measure by an old craftswoman from Basel who can meet this need and lack. The elderly wife, however, not satisfied with the inanimate doll, decides at this point to turn to a witch who, thanks to a strange ritual, will be able to give life to the doll, but things will soon fall for the elderly couple.

Una coppia anziana di Losanna non puo’ avere figli, decide a questo punto di farsi costruire su misura una bambola da una vecchia artigiana di Basilea che possa sopperire loro questa esigenza e mancanza. La moglie anziana pero’ non soddisfatta della bambola inanimata, decide a questo punto di rivolgersi ad una strega che grazie ad uno strano rito riuscira’ ad dare vita alla bambola, ma le cose presto per l’anziana coppia precipiteranno.
